Marigold has a shy personality; she prefers to observe any unfamiliar humans from a distance and definitely does not like to cooperate for pictures or the milk stand.  Marigold comes from some excellent breeding and is the 3rd consecutive doe from both her dam and sire's side to earn her Superior Genetics designation AND score an Excellent in mammary.  That's some great consistency in this line!!  She has a capacious, high and wide udder with very large teats.  There's a lot to like about Marigold's conformation as well; she's elegant, refined and dairy.  I try to pair her with bucks to help improve upon rump, legs, and ideally more plumb teats.

Marigold is currently being offered for sale.  I have a couple of daughters in my herd to continue on with her genetics.  Her milk stand manners leave much to be desired but she's also she seems to suffer from dermatitis (dry skin & hair loss).  A bath with a conditioning shampoo helps greatly, as does MTG to promote hair regrowth.  She has flare ups in times of stress (breeding, weaning kids, fire evacuations (eek!) and a bossy herd queen.  Her spring coat comes in looking so much better, she is mostly impacted in the fall/winter months.  She looked amazing last year in 2020 but this year there was just too much with the 3 week fire evacuation and the new herd queen that she flared up more than I've ever seen.  My new job and new hours didn't help the matter and I got behind on maintenance for her.  :(  I think she'd do much better in a lower stress environment like a pet home.  Offering her with her buck kid (to be wethered) for comfort.
